Gerald A. Smith, 61, of Coatesville, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 in Chester County Hospital.

Born in Reading, he was the son of Dolores J. (Wert) Younker, Shoemakersville; and William D. Smith, husband of Barbara A. (Dupree), Hamburg. He graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1979. Before becoming disabled, Gerald had worked at Cougle's Recycling, Hamburg.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers: Ricky "Rick" L. Sonon, husband of June L. (Werley), Perry Twp., and Michael W. Sonon, husband of Debra E. (Moyer), Adamstown; a brother in law: Jeffrey T. Schlenker, Tilden Twp.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister: Debra J. (Smith) Schlenker, passed away March 7, 2015.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp.
