George L. Spohn, 85, of Upper Tulpehocken Twp., passed away Friday, February 19, 2021 in Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. He was the husband of Anna M. (Metz) Spohn. They were married September 12, 1959 and celebrated 61 years of marriage. Born in Pike Twp., he was the son of the late David E. and Ethel M. (Luft) Spohn. He graduated from Penn Bernville High School in 1954. He was a United States Army Veteran. George worked as a printer operator for 25 years. George was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp. He loved gardening, taking care of his house and yard, and figuring out how to make things work. He was a tinkerer. He was an avid fan of Penn State Football. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons: Brian C. Spohn, Columbia, Lancaster County, Dean E. Spohn, husband of Lois A. (Birkenbine), Greenwich Twp., and Kyle S. Spohn, Manheim; a daughter: Carol A. (Spohn) Smith, wife of Dana W., Shoemakersville; seven grandchildren: Stacy, Jeremy, Heather, Darci, Andrew, Nicolas, and Stefan; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother: Donald L. Spohn. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg, PA 19526 (Off Street Parking in Rear).
