George E. Confer, 84, of Hamburg, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025 in his residence.

Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Theodore G. and Elizabeth E. (Howerter) Confer. He graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1959; and later received a bachelor's degree in education from Franklin and Marshall. George was a US Navy Veteran. He worked as a school teacher for Hamburg Area School District for many years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, Hamburg. He was a member of Vaux Lodge No. 406 F&AM, and the Rajah Shrine. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and traveling to Canada; and he was a former member of Hamburg Borough Council.

He is survived by a brother: Michael D. Confer, Florida.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 11:00 am in First Reformed United Church of Christ, 76 S. 3rd Street, Hamburg, Pa 19526. Burial will follow in St John's Cemetery, Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the church. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
