George J. Addison, "Jeff", 64, of Leesport, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 15, 2012 in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Shade) Addison. George and Nancy shared their life together for thirty years.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late George E. and Catherine A. (Deppen) Addison. He was a 1965 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. George was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He first worked for Allentown Portland Cement Company for seventeen years. He then worked as an electrician for twenty-six years for East Penn Manufacturing, Lyons, until his retirement in 2011. George was a member of Maidencreek Church, Blandon. He enjoyed NASCAR and watching television "with his eyes closed."
Surviving in addition to his wife is one son: Chad Jeffrey Addison, husband of Elaine C. (Storti) Addison, Lower Heidelberg Twp.; one daughter: Tracy J. (Addison), wife of Rodney L. Goldsborough, Mohnton; and four grandchilden: Rejeana, Trisha, Madeline, and Ethan. George is also survived by his four-legged companions: Maggie and Max.
Services will be on Thursday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Centerport. Burial will be in Leesport Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Wednesday 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
