Georganne Brown, 78, of Perry Twp., died Monday, July 8, 2012 in the Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Franklin A. Brown. They were married on March 17, 1961 and celebrated 51 years of marriage.
Born in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Pearl (Brooks) Ansert. She worked for twenty-five years as the cafeteria manager for Schuylkill Valley Elementary School, retiring in 1999. During the summers, she was the concession stand manager at the Leesport Swimming Pool and Bern Swimming Pool She later worked part-time in the deli of Redner's Market, Leesport. Georganne enjoyed sewing, walking, watching sporting events, listening to music, cooking and helping people.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons: F. James Kern, husband of Daria (Hargesheimer) Kern, Kutztown; Kevin B. Brown, husband of Bobbi (Burkman) Brown, Vail, Arizona; and Christopher M. Brown, husband of Shannon (Ruth) Brown, Palm Harbor, Florida. There are three grandchildren: Tristan R. Brown, and his wife Barbara; and Patrick R. and Kaley L. Brown; one brother: William S. Ansert, and his wife Randy, Reno, Nevada; and one sister: Bonnie K., wife of Charles Seila, Vero Beach, Florida.
Services will be on Saturday at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held in the funeral homes Friday 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Saturday 9:30 to 10:30 am.
