Gene T. Rhoads, 83, of Hamburg, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the husband of Arlene B. (Naftzinger) Rhoads. They were married November 28, 1964 and celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Born in Tilden Twp., he was the son of the late Paul V. and Hilda M. (Ernst) Rhoads. He was a US Navy Veteran. Gene worked in foundry's in Hamburg for 41 years last working in Fairmount Foundry and retiring in 2003. He was a past president and member of Hamburg Lions Club, Lebanon Valley Pigeon Club, Reading Pigeon Club, and Bernville Young at Heart.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Michele D. (Rhoads) Wisniewski, wife of David A., Hamburg, Betty (Rhoads) Bray, wife of Keith, West Hamburg, Sally (Rhoads) Snyder, widow of Stuart Snyder, Bern Twp., and Victor R. Rhoads, Hamburg; six grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother: Robert R. Rhoads, husband of Marian, Phoenix, AZ; and a sister: Betty J. (Rhoads) Keller, widow of Raymond, Ocala, FL. He was predeceased by a son: Gene T. "Tommy" Rhoads, Jr.; a daughter: Bobbi Lyn (Rhoads) Castaneda; a brother: Paul H. Rhoads; and a three sisters: June, Mae, and Rosemarie.
