Gail M. James, 70, of Tilden Twp., passed away in her residence on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Alvin T. James. They were married on July 16, 1999 and celebrated twenty-four years of marriage.
Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of Dorothy (Schappell) Correll Sayer, Windsor Twp.; and the late Joseph Correll. Gail was a 1971 graduate of Hamburg Area High School and also graduated from Reading Area Community College. She worked as a management information systems clerk at Reading School District and also worked at H&R Block, Hamburg for nineteen years. Gail was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamburg. She enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, listening to music - especially The Beatles, amusement parks, roller coasters, puzzles, games and playing cards. Gail especially enjoyed spending time with her family. They were everything to her.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are her children: Stacey L. (James) Brensinger, wife of Daniel Brensinger, Edenburg; Holly A. (James) Heydt, wife of David Heydt, Centre Twp.; Corey M. James, husband of Kelly, Windsor Twp.; Christopher J. James, husband of Steph, Newport, PA; and Jeremy A. James, husband of Nicole, Leesport; thirteen grandchildren: Nicole, Brooke, Trevor, Morgan, Peyton, Alyssa, Tyler, Bodie, Emma, Alivia, Adam, Owen and Adyson; and one great-granddaughter: Callie. Gail was predeceased by a sister: Karen Ludwig.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Monday 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00 am. Family and friends attending Gail's services are asked to bring a photo of themself or family to be placed in Gail's casket with her.
