Obituary

Franklyn A. Rubright, 98, formerly of Centre Twp., passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at StoneRidge Poplar Run, were he resided. He was the husband of Ferne M. (Kauffman) Rubright, who died May 12, 2009.

Born in Hamburg, he was the son of the late George C. and Katie M. (Frantz) Rubright. He was a 1934 graduate of Ontelaunee Vocational High School. Franklyn worked as a knitter for twenty-two years for the Berkshire Knitting Mill, Wyomissing. He then worked as a carpenter with Carl Weaver and Clarence Reber until the late 1970's. Franklyn was a member of Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp., where he was a former member, president and treasurer of church council; and choir member. He was also a charter member and former vice-president of the Central Berks Fire Company, Centerport; and a former treasurer of Boys Scouts of American Troop #154 of Belleman's Church.

Franklyn is survived one son: George F. "Skip" Rubright, husband of Nancy D. (Bixler) Rubright, Jefferson Twp.; one daughter: Gayle A. (Rubright) Diehl, wife of Paul A. Levey, Bern Twp.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister: Dorothy (Rubright) Yeakel.
