Frances E. Burkert, 81, of Hamburg, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. She was the wife of Walter L. Burkert, who died April 30, 1996.
Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. Henry and Emma L. (Meyer) Henry Marko. Frances worked at the Globe Underwear Company, March Sportswear and retired from Wright's Knitting Mill in 1997. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Shoemakersville Fire Company.
Frances is survived by one daughter: Mary L. (Shenk), wife of Keith Henn, Tilden Twp.; one son: David R. Burkert, Auburn; two granddaughters: Marcia Slimmer, wife of Richard, Fleetwood; and Krystle Konsavage, wife of John, Deer Lake; one great-granddaughter: Jenaliez Henn; and four step-children. She is also survived by two brothers: Lester F. Henry; and Stephen Marko, both of Shoemakersville; and two sisters: Evelyn (Henry) Powers, New Richmond, Wisconsin; and Janice (Henry) Struempfler, Jamison, PA. Frances was predeceased by one sister: Sandra (Henry) Calnan; and one step-son.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear).
