Obituary

Floyd Allen James, 90, of Ontelaunee Twp., died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Twp. He was the husband of Hildegarde O. (Wise) James. They were married on December 13, 1947 and celebrated 64 years of marriage Born in Mormans River, Virginia, he was the son of the late Jesse and Naomi (Blackwell) James. "Allen" was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked for Dana Corporation for 43 years retiring as a crane truck operator in 1984. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Leesport. Allen was a member of V.F.W. Chapter 10, Bern Twp.; and a life member of V.F.W. Post 15040, Pennsylvania member at large. Surviving in addition to his wife is one daughter: Linda A. (James), wife of Joseph Poole, Temple; one step-daughter: Gail O. (Strause), wife of Charles Schwab, Laureldale; two granddaughters: Tracy Schrum and Jacquelyn Robinson; and three great-grandchildren: Jennifer and Alyssa Schrum; and Kody Frank. Allen is also survived by a sister: Virginia (James) Weidman. He was predeceased by a step-daughter: Geraldine A. (Strause) Holl, in 1976. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am from Leesport Cemetery, Ontelaunee Twp. There will not be a viewing. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
