Floyd B. Foxx, 89, of Hamburg, died Sunday, July 22, 2012 in the Reading Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence (Heffner) Foxx, who died in 2004.
Born in West Hamburg, he was the son of the late Lillie Long. He was a graduate of Hamburg High School. Floyd was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Beginning in 1943, he served on board ship U.S.S. Healy DD672 and engaged in all Pacific Island raids until March 1945. He worked at Berks Foundry, West Hamburg and Fairmount Foundry, Hamburg, until his retirement. Floyd enjoyed fishing, gardening, and wood working.
Floyd was predeceased by a sister: Marguerite D. Geiss. He is survived by two nieces: Delores M., wife of Daniel M. Clouser, Perry Twp.; and Russeline Y., wife of John L. Wily, Muhlenberg Twp.; four great-nephews: Dean and Dale Clouser and Brent and Brad Wily; and one great-niece: Dawn Stetzler.
Services will be on Friday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp.
