Florence Mae Deisher, 93, formerly of Centre Twp., a resident at Country Meadows of Wyomissing, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Country Meadows. She was the wife of the late Curtis G. Deisher who died July 12, 1997.
Born in Muhlenberg Twp., she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Dorothy M. (Shade) Wesner. She was a longtime member of Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp. Florence and her husband were very active members of the church and were married there in 1953. She was a member of Shoemakersville Senior Citizens. She loved to play bingo and was very good at winning! She enjoyed gardening, baking, and playing cards. She is especially remembered for her sour cherry pies and her signature pumpkin pies. She enjoyed watching birds, doing word search puzzles, and loved watching old cowboy movies featuring her favorite actor, John Wayne. She even named her son's middle name in Wayne's honor.
She is survived by a son: Douglas W. Deisher, husband of Debra L. (Rollman), Mohrsville; two daughters: Carol Ann (Fehnel), wife of Mitchell Bowyer, Shawnee-on-Delaware, PA, and Jean C. (Deisher), wife of Robert J. Fies, Jr., Reading; six granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth V. (Wesner), wife of Harold M. Seidel, Shoemakersville. She was predeceased by her brothers: Leroy, Charles, Raymond, Paul, Clarence, and Walter Wesner.
A viewing will be held at Salem (Belleman's) Church, 3540 Belleman's Church Road, Mohrsville, PA 19541 on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM followed by a church service at 11:00AM. Afterwards, a private burial will take place in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: Salem (Belleman's) Church, designating the Building Fund, at the above address.
