Faye E. Beissel, 82, of Bern Twp., passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was the wife of Kenneth R. Beissel, Sr. They were married February 16, 1957 and celebrated 64 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Lester C. and Myrtle (Focht) Green. She graduated from Ontelaunee High School in 1956. She was a member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bern Twp. Faye worked as a personnel manager at Interstate Container, Reading working 20+ years. Later, she worked as a recruiter at Miller Keystone Blood Bank, before retiring in 2002. She loved her family more than anything, especially her sons and grandchildren. She enjoyed trips to the casino with her husband. She was in charge of running trips to the casino for the Senior Burners at church; and was the aerobic instructor for the Silver Sneakers, also at church. Faye always loved attending her son's and grandchildren's athletic, musical, and special events. She was the lead actress in her senior class play, Oklahoma. Faye was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons: James M. Beissel, husband of Sherry A. (Weiss), Bern Twp., Kenneth R. Beissel, Jr., husband of Debbie L. (Harle), Bern Twp., and Jeff L. Beissel, husband of Rose M. (Heck), Wyomissing; eight grandchildren: Chris R. Beissel, husband of Katie, Jordan M. Beissel, husband of Sarah, Matthew H. Scheidt, Katie L. Scheidt, Matt C. Beissel, husband of Beth, Angela M. (Stoudt) Galczynski, wife of Marc, Alex L. Beissel, and Austin J. "AJ" Beissel; and eight great-grandchildren: Reagan, Vivienne, Harper, Evan, Jakey, Ali, Anthony, and Tristan. She is also survived by a brother: Raymond C. Green, Leesport. She was predeceased by two sisters: Etta Jay, and Janice "Tootie."
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 7:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. A visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
