Obituary

Fay J. Clark Uffalussy, 79, of Windsor Twp., passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Berks Heim after a six-year struggle with Alzheimer's. Fay was born August 9, 1933 in Bradford, PA, the daughter of the late Ralph and Signe Watson. She resided in Rixford, PA and was a 1951 graduate of of Otto High School in Duke Center, PA. As a youngster, she enjoyed roller skating, bowling, and cards. Upon graduation, she was employed with South Penn Oil Company in Bradford, and later Pennzoil Company, Oil City, PA. After the birth of her first son, she spent the next 25 years as a devoted wife and mother. Fay was so proud of her three sons, all serving in the U.S. Air Force at the same time. She worked for Wright's Knitwear in Hamburg for several years until her retirement. Fay woke up every day with a big smile and a new outlook on life as if it was a new beginning. Even though in the later stages of Alzheimer's, her small world was always getting smaller, she was still capable of a smile and a wink of the eye. Fay was married to Charles L. Clark from June 30, 1956 until 1981. The family lived in Oil City and Pleasantville, PA for 18 years before moving to Hamburg in 1974. On December 27, 1987, Fay married Edmund Uffalussy of Lenhartsville/Virginville, PA. For the next 25 years, they enjoyed fishing, boating, and motorcycling together. Fay is survived by her husband, Edmund A. Uffalussy; Charles Clark; and three sons: Todd Clark (wife Charla, children Matthew and Devon), of Plattsmouth, NE; Shawn Clark (children Stephen and Nathan), of Grants Pass, OR; and Timothy Clark (wife Danielle, children Rachel, Brandon, and Jenna), of Chantilly, VA. She is also survived by her sister: Ruth Kish (husband Gene, children Jeffrey and Halle), of Oil City; and several cousins, nephews and nieces. At this time, I (Edmund) would personally like to thank the staff, nurses, CNA and residence of Berks Heim who have helped Fay and myself through these difficult times. Without them, it would be unbearable; so Thank You. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). A visitation with the family will be on Monday 10:30 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, have a kind thought and prayer or a donation to the Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Fl. New York, NY 10001, www.alzfdn.org.
