Eugenia M. Beissel, 81, formerly of Leesport, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 in Phoebe Berks Healthcare Center, Wernersville. She was the wife of Raymond E. Beissel, Jr., who died in 1995. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Josephine (Barone) Giancci. Eugenia worked in the cafeteria at Schuylkill Valley High School. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Leesport. Eugenia was a Lioness of the Bern Twp. Lions Club; and member of the Order of Eastern Star, Reading. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crocheting. Eugenia loved her pets and especially enjoyed the extensive traveling that she did with her husband Raymond. Eugenia is survived by three sons: Larry R. Beissel, and his wife Susan, in Michigan; Kenneth J. Beissel, and his wife Pamela, Wernersville; and Steven R. Beissel, and his wife Janet, Ontelaunee Twp.; one daughter: Susan J. (Beissel), wife of Francis Richards, Bluffton, South Carolina; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and her great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister: Rosina (Giancci), wife of Morris Kline, Bern Twp. Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in St. John's (Gernant's) Cemetery, Ontelaunee Twp. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home Thursday 10:00 to 11:00 am.
