Eugene P. Kemp, 80, of Bern Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 3, 2026 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center.

He was the husband of Janet C. (Rothermel) Kemp. They were married on September 2, 1972 and celebrated fifty-three years of marriage.

Born in District Twp., he was the son of the late Percy E. and Sallie E. (Miller) Kemp. Eugene was a 1963 graduate of Hamburg High School; and

received an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.

He worked for Textile Machine, then Rockwell International, and last for Goss Graphics. Eugene was a member of Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp.

He was also a member of the Ontelaunee Grange #1617 and the Bernville Seniors. Eugene enjoyed mowing grass, fixing things, going to Elvis shows,

traveling, cruises, racing and baseball.

Surviving in addition to his wife is one son: Chad E. Kemp, husband of Brenda, Jamul, California.

Services will be held on Friday at 2:30 pm at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Leesport Cemetery.
