Ethel M. Loeb, 79, of Shoemakersville, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 8:00 am in the Reading Hospital where she was a patient since Sunday. She was the wife of Wayne H. Loeb. They were married on November 5, 1949 and celebrated 61 years of marriage.
Born in Centre Twp., she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Sallie (Kauffman) Bagenstose. Ethel was a 1949 graduate of Hamburg High School. She was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons: Terry L., husband of Tamara A. (Kulikosky) Loeb, Hamburg; and Allen F., husband of Roxanne D. (Weaver) Loeb, Leesport; and two daughters: Sharon A. (Loeb), wife of Donald G. Tobias, Perry Twp.; and Janet L. (Loeb), wife of Thomas M. Harner, Alsace Twp. There are eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Ethel is also survived by her twin-sister: Esther M. (Bagenstose) Kieffer, Bethel Twp.; and sister: Elsie J. (Bagenstose) Dougherty, a resident at Oak Leaf Manor North, Landisville. Ethel was predeceased by a grandson; five brothers; and six sisters.
Services will be on Monday at 10:30 am from St. Michael's Church, 529 St. Michael's Road, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp. A viewing will be held at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear), on Sunday 7:00 to 9:00 pm and at the church Monday 9:30 to 10:30 am.
