Obituary

Ethel I. Drumheller, 87, of Hamburg, died Sunday, August 11, 2024 in her residence. She was the wife of the late James F. Drumheller, died November 1991.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Jesse E. and Kathryn S. (Genslinger) Shrom. She graduated from Perry High School in 1954. Ethel had worked as a cook at the Hamburg Diner; and later as a custodian and cafeteria worker at Berks County Intermediate Unit until retirement. She enjoyed word search puzzles; and was the last surviving member of "The Bench Bunch" in Hamburg.

She is survived by two daughters: Karen L. (Drumheller) Merryfield, wife of Thomas, Pottsville, and Kim L. (Drumheller) Krick, widow of the late Gregory H. Krick, Hamburg; two grandchildren: Joseph Merryfield and Logan Krick; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by two brothers: Kenneth Shrom, husband of Carolyn, and Jesse L. Shrom, husband of Nancy, both of Florida; and three sisters: Miriam (Shrom) Schaeffer, Hamburg, Patricia (Shrom) Seip, and Susan (Shrom), wife of Alfredo Liguoro, Hamburg. She was predeceased by a brother: Harold C. "Harry" Shrom.

A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg. Private burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
