Esther C. Zimmerman, 98, of Perry Twp., died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in her residence. Her husband, Clare A. Zimmerman, died April 25, 1982. Born in Kutztown, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Bertha (Dietrich) Coller. She worked on the family farm along with her husband. Esther and her husband also operated a potato stand at the Leesport Auction, which she continued to do after his death. She was a member of St. John's (Gernant's) United Church of Christ, Ontelaunee Twp. Esther enjoyed helping at the church suppers. She also enjoyed gardening and loved to bake. Esther was a member of the Virginville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Hamburg Senior Citizens. Esther is survived by one daughter: Eleanor E. (Zimmerman), widow of Charles M. Hafer, Jr., with whom she resided in Perry Twp.; and two grandchildren: Charlene E. Hafer and Charles C. Hafer. She was predeceased by two brothers: William and Earl Coller; and three sisters: Mabel Schappell, Gertrude Sicher, and Anna Adam. Services will be on Saturday at 1:30 pm from St. John's (Gernant's) United Church of Christ, 12 Gernant's Church Road, Leesport. Burial will be in St. John's (Gernant's) Cemetery. A viewing will be held in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear) on Friday 7:00 to 9:00 pm and at the church Saturday 12:30 to 1:30 pm.
