Esther M. Reppert, 97, of Shoemakersville, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, in the home of her niece: Doris M. Gough, with whom she resided. Her husband, Harry E. Reppert, died September 11, 1998. Esther recently celebrated her birthday with family and friends.

Born in Tilden Twp., she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Bertie E. (Kershner) Berger. She worked as a folder for the Crown Knitting Mill, Hamburg Knitting Mill, and the Dutch Knitting Mill. She also worked with her husband Harry in his brick hauling business. Esther was a member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville. She was also a 50-year member of AAA Reading-Berks. Esther enjoyed crocheting, word search, and dancing. She also enjoyed being around people and was always smiling.

Esther is survived by two nieces: Doris M. (Zipp) Gough, Shoemakersville and with whom she resided; and Mary E. (Zipp) Billig, Mohrsville; several additional nieces and nephews; and her god-son: Kevin P. Gough. She was predeceased by three brothers: Charles, George, and Clarence Berger; and three sisters: Mary (Berger) Straus; Minnie E. (Berger) Himmelberger; and Anna E. (Berger) Zipp.

Services will be on Monday at 2:00 pm from St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville. Burial will be in St. Luke's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held on Sunday 7:00 to 9:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear) and at the church Monday 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
