Erma A. (Kauffman) Bailey, 94, of Centre Twp., died Thursday, August 28, 2014 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was the wife of William K. Bailey, died January 1, 2004. Born in Mohrsville, she was the daughter of the late Orlando E. and Bessie M. (Bagenstose) Kauffman. Erma worked as a postal clerk for 10 years at Mohrsville Post Office, and then 12 years at the Shoemakersville Post Office, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Salem (Belleman's) Church. She was also a member of the former Ladies Auxiliary of the Union Fire Co. No. 1 of Hamburg, a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Shoemakersville and Leesport Fire Companies. Erma is survived by two daughters: Ermine L. (Bailey) Wiest, Greenville, S.C., and Carol A. (Bailey) Moyer, West Reading. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren; and a sister: Esther A. (Kauffman) Weber, Tuckerton. She was predeceased by a son: Kenneth W. Bailey, died December 1997; a daughter: Shirley M. (Bailey) Reber, died September 1998; and a grandson. Services will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc. 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will follow in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery.
