February 24, 1950 – March 27, 2024
Eric L. Kissinger, 74, of Mohrsville, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the husband of Carlene A. (Weaver) Kissinger. They were married September 12, 1970 and celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Albert C. and Helen I. (Rex) Kissinger. He graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1968. Eric was a member of Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp. He was a US Air Force Veteran. He worked as a supervisor at DANA corporation for approximately 30 years, and later worked as a supervisor at Ontelaunee Orchards until he retired in 2012. . Eric enjoyed volunteering at the church fellowship hall and sang in the Belleman's church choir. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, cooking, gardening, and carpentry. His passion was playing the Mellophone. He was a member of Hamburg Junior Buccaneers, becoming their Drum Major and went on to become a member of the U.S. Air Force Drum & Bugle Corps, a Reading Buccaneer, and a longtime member of the Buccaneer Alumni Association and Bucs Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps. Eric is a 2021 inductee of the Reading Buccaneers Hall of Fame. We're All Good Men.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son: Adam L. Kissinger, husband of Elizabeth A. (Houck) Kissinger, Shillington; a daughter: Jennifer M. (Kissinger) Starkey, wife of Dustin A. Shirk, Kutztown; two grandchildren: Anderson L. Starkey, and Audra M. Starkey; and two step-grandchildren: Bradley A. Shirk, and Regina M. Shirk. Eric is also survived by his brother: Rex L. Kissinger, husband of Carol A. (Hoy) Kissinger, Mohrsville. He was predeceased by a brother: James L. Kissinger.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 10:30 am from Salem (Belleman's) Church, 3540 Belleman's Church Rd., Mohrsville, PA 19541. Burial will follow in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the church from 9:00 to 10:30 am.
