Elsie M. Showers, 85, of Tilden Twp., died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp., where she resided for one year. She was the wife of Roy K. Showers, died February 17, 1999. Born in Tilden Twp., she was the daughter of the late H. Jackson and Lizzie (Dunkleberger) Rentschler. She was a 1945 graduate of Hamburg High School. Elsie was a cosmetologist and beautician for various salons in the area. She was a member of Salem Evangelical Congregational Church, Windsor Twp. Elsie enjoyed traveling and visited 48 states, not including Hawaii and Alaska. Elsie is survived by one daughter: Sandra E. (Showers), wife of Kevin L. Towles, Tilden Twp.; two grandchildren: Andrea R. (Towles), wife of Michael Dautrich; and Justin E., husband of Heather (McCall) Towles; and six great-granddaughters: Felicity, Carissa, Annaleah, Victoria, and Josephine Dautrich; and Cierra Towles. A great-grandson, MacKevin, is expected in June. Elsie was predeceased by six brothers: J. Raymond, William, Earl, Norman, Harold, and Richard Rentschler; and two sisters: Helen Stamm and Mildred Rentschler. Services will be private at the convenience of the family from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
