Elio Jubenal Ramirez, 84, of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 in UPMC Harrisburg. He was the husband of Josefina C. Saldana, Harrisburg.

Born in San Andres, Cuba, he was the son of the late Jubenal Ramirez-Molina and Petronila Ramona-Bientz. He worked for many years for Esther Ludwig, taking care of her horses, assisting with breeding them, and taking care of her land. He later worked for Wernersville State Hospital as a groundskeeper until retirement. He loved gardening, playing dominoes, and attending his church. He could always be found singing and dancing, organizing a pig roast, and especially enjoyed being with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children: William T. Ramirez, widow of Melissa A. (Bainbridge), Orwigsburg, and Elio A. "Tony" Ramirez, Orwigsburg; two daughters: Iliana M. Ramirez-Crespo, wife of Andrew C. Crespo, Tilden Twp., and Lorainis "Lorraine" Ramirez, Hamburg; eight grandchildren: Chelsea, Ryan, Veneza, Kye, Veronica, Jasynda, Delaney, and Kiernen; and two great-grandchildren: Benjamin, and Ella. Elio is also survived by his siblings: Olga, Rosa, Dolores, Luis, Amado, Reinelda, Gisela, and Flavia; his step-children: Uriel C. Saldana, Filemon C. Saldana, Aurelia C. Saldana, Isis Josefina C. Saldana, Cuauhtemoc C. Saldana, and Blanca Edith C. Saldana; and his first wife: Lourdes Calzadilla. He was predeceased by a son: Jubenal Ramirez, who passed away in 1993; and his siblings: Maria Elena "Cuca," and Nelly,

A Catholic prayer service will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg, PA 19526 (off-street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamburg. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
