Eli Eugene Schappell, 4 , passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was the son of Brenton C. Schappell and Kesha L. Kratzer, Hamburg.
Eli was born in Hershey on August 28, 2020. He adored mint chocolate chip ice cream, T Rex, and food, especially fancy food and corn on the cob. He was a fan of Star Wars, and his favorite character was Yoda; and he loved trains. Eli enjoyed "driving" his dad's truck around the campground; and had a special affinity for delivery trucks, primarily UPS, USPS, and FedEx especially, Eli's favorite road trip was visiting Dave at fedex and going to the pancake store (Leesport Diner).
Eli was nothing but a miricle, he might have been born with a broken heart but his heart truely filled the world with love and strength.
Surviving in addition to his parents is his paternal grandmother: Jean M. (Holland) Brown, wife of Daryl, Windsor Castle; paternal grandfather: Curtis I. Schappell, husband of Yvonne, Marcus Hook, PA; maternal grandmother: Melinda J. (Sturgeon) Kratzer, widow of Dennis E. Kratzer, Duncannon; Uncle Denny L. Kratzer, husband of Jessica; Aunt Melissa (Schappell), wife of Blake; Aunt Kristin (Schappell) Ferguson, wife of David; Uncle Steve Brown, husband of Dana; Uncle Chris Brown husband of Sarah; and Uncle Eric Brown husband of Lindsay; and he's survived by many cousins. He is also survived by Kesha's Aunt and Uncle: Frank and Jackie Shutt, and their children: Juli, Dondi, and Sara; and Brenton's Aunt and Uncle: Nevin and Barbara Schappell, and their children: Dustin and Trisha; along with his parent's other aunts and uncles.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 7:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be private in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp.
