Elda S. Rothermel, 96, of Perry Twp., passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 in her residence. She was the wife of John F. Rothermel, who died September 8, 1973. Born in Hamburg, she was the daughter of the late Floyd A. and Eva K. (Altenderfer) Smith. Elda worked as a sewing machine operator for Hamburg Knitting Mills, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Zion's Church; and a former member of Shoemakersville Senior Citizens. Elda enjoyed yard work and was a hard worker. Elda is survived by one sister: Ruth E. (Smith), wife of Melvin J. Wagner, Muhlenberg Twp.; and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers: Lester F. Smith; and Nevin A. Smith; one sister: Myrtle A. (Smith) Henry; and one step-sister: Esther Moyer. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp.
