Edna G. Davis, 92, of Windsor Twp., died Monday, October 22, 2012, in the Reading Hospital. She was the wife of George C. Davis, who died September 23, 1996. Born in Ontelaunee Twp., she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Katie (Gehret) Burkert. She worked with her husband George on the family farm in Windsor Twp. Edna was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perry Twp. She enjoyed baking and cooking. Edna is survived by three sons: Carl R. Davis, Windsor Twp.; Glenn A., husband of Helen (Golubics) Davis, Upper Tulpehocken Twp.; and Dennis R., husband of Yvonne (Adam) Davis, Perry Twp.; two daughters: Shirley M. (Davis), wife of Wayne Lesher, Jefferson Twp.; and Audrey K. (Davis), wife of Glenn A. Kline, Upper Tulpehocken Twp.; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers: Nevin Burkert, and his wife Shirley, Tilden Twp.; Richard Burkert, and his wife Janet, Hamburg; and Arthur Burkert, and his wife Carol, Windsor Twp. Edna was predeceased by a son: Martin L. Davis; one brother: Melvin Burkert; and one sister: Elsie Burkert. Services will be on Friday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Grimville.
