Obituary

Earl R. Spatz, formerly of Tilden Twp., died Sunday April 28, 2013 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. Born in Tilden Twp., he was the son of the late Paul J. and Stella L. (Mengel) Spatz. Earl graduated the 8th grade from the Tilden Twp. school. Earl worked as a truck driver for Branch Motor Freight, retiring in May 1984. Earl moved around a few times in his life, living in Tilden Twp. for 20 years, Leesport for 28 years, White Deer for 15 years and most recently in Taveras, FL for the past 22 years. He was a former member of the Central Pennsylvania Teamsters. Earl was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking, camping, and fishing; he was also a fan of all types of motorsports. Earl is survived by: 2 daughters Darlene A. wife of Thomas Kubacki, Shoemakersville; Karen L. Bennage, Milton, 5 grandchildren: Tricia (Kubacki) Engel, Seth Kubacki, Gregg Kubacki, Kristy (Bennage) Snavely, and Kevin Bennage. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren: Tabitha,Madison, Jacob, Avery, Caine, and Adrianna. Earl was predeceased by 5 brothers: Leon, Lester, Carl, Merlon, and Frederick "Fritz" Spatz. The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the Laurel Center and their extraordinary staff for their care and concern for Earl.
