Dorothy A. "Dottie" Waters, 71, of Centre Twp., passed away in her residence on Saturday, November 23, 2024. She was the wife of John F. Waters.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Mary R. (Zeimer) Grube. Dottie graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School, attended Penn State University and graduated from Alvernia College. She then became the print shop manager at Berks County Intermediate Unit for many years. Dottie grew up dairy farming and loved her cows. She was an active parent, mentor, and supporter of Berks County 4H and the Berks Co Dairy Princess Promotion programs. She was also a member of the Lehigh Valley Beekeepers Association. She enjoyed camping with her husband, needlework, gardening, genealogy and photography. She was known as the "cheesecake lady" by many who were lucky enough to sample her signature dessert at local events and fundraisers.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children: Lynne M. Spatz, wife of Tim, Centre Twp.; John W. Koinski, husband of Holly, Tilden Twp.; Dreya B. Koinski, Centre Twp.; Nicholas J. Koinski, husband of Jennifer, Lancaster, KY; and Marisa A. Reitnouer, Centre Twp., nineteen grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Dottie is also survived by her siblings: Geraldine Jones, wife of Robert, Tijeras, NM; Walter E. Grube, Jr., Orwigsburg; Rosetta Sosi, Temple; Joseph Grube, husband of Wendy, Centre Twp., and Christine Boltz, wife of Leon, Centre Twp.; and many nieces and nephews.
A Visitation and Gathering with the family will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from Noon to 3:00 pm at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Leesport. A Prayer will be given at 3:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be sent to Berks County 4-H, 1238 County Welfare Road, Suite 110, Leesport, PA 19533 or to St Luke's University Hospital (note to: Excellence in Cancer Care Fund), c/o St. Luke's Development Office, 801 Ostrum St., Bethlehem, PA 18015
