Dorothy A. Potts, 100, co-founder of Potts Nurseries, Ontelaunee Twp., a resident at Maidencreek Place, died Thursday, December 11, 2025 in Maidencreek Place. She was the wife of the late W. Merrill Potts, died December 15, 1995.

Born in Maidencreek Twp., she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Helen R.M. (Snyder) Shultz. She graduated from Birdsboro High School in 1944. Dorothy was a member of St. John's (Gernant's) Church, Ontelaunee Twp. She owned and operated Potts Nurseries for many years alongside her husband Merrill. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, cooking, and playing hostess to her family on holidays. She also was a lifelong bowler, bowling up until 2020. She could always be found volunteering at church; making bows for wreaths and cemetery logs, and corsages. She was very hardworking; always taking care of things that needed to be done.

She is survived by a son: Michael L. Potts, husband of Patricia A. (Seidel) Potts, Ontelaunee Twp.; a daughter: Kim E. (Potts) Murphy, wife of Richard K. Murphy, Ontelaunee Twp.; three grandsons; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister: Sylvia M. (Shultz) Emore, Lakeland, FL. She was predeceased by a son: Kenneth A. Potts; a brother: Robert L. Shultz; and a sister: Miriam E. (Shultz) Brossman.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home.
