Dorothy M. Baseman, 81, of Baltimore, MD died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Mandrin Inpatient Care Center, Harwood, MD. She was the wife of Marvin C. Baseman. Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Hilda F. (Swavely) and Robert A. Dissinger. She was a Class of 1950 graduate of West Reading High School, and a graduate of Baltimore City Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1952. Dorothy worked as a licensed practical nurse at Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore for 35 years before her retirement in 1994. Surviving in addition to her husband are two children: Daniel T. Baseman, Glen Burnie, MD., and Melanie A. (Baseman) wife of Raymond Wieringa, Odenton, MD. Services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.
