Donald S. Sunday, 78, formerly of Ontelaunee Township, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 in Columbia Cottage, Wyomissing, where he resided. He was the husband of Gloria A. (Stewart) Sunday, died May 6, 1997. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Samuel F. and Lila M. (Bausher) Sunday. Donald was a Class of 1952 graduate of Ontelaunee High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and he worked as an annealer at Carpenter in Reading for 38 years until his retirement in February 1997. Donald was a member of St. Paul's (Smoke) Lutheran Church, Windsor Township. Donald was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed hunting, trapshooting, working with wood, and enjoyed music. Donald is survived by three children: Donald S. Sunday, II husband of Heidi L. (Hassler) Sunday, Wyomissing, Glenn A. Sunday husband of Shannon L. (Pflueger) Sunday, Maidencreek Twp., and Kathleen A. Sunday companion of Robert H. Scagnelli, Muhlenberg Twp. He is also survived by: two granddaughters, Whitney M. and Katie Jo Sunday; and a sister Gloria J. Bailey, Ontelaunee Twp. Donald was predeceased by a brother David F. Sunday. Services will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc. 223 Peach Street Leesport. Burial will follow in St. Paul's (Smoke) Cemetery, Windsor Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Thursday 1:00-2:00 P.M.
