Donald G. Peters, 82, of Lenhartsville, entered into eternal rest on September 12, 2024. He was the husband of Jerilyn (Rohrbach) Peters to whom he was married for 63 years. He proposed to his high school sweetheart on the night of their graduation from Kutztown Area High School and they were married 5 months later.

Born in Lenhartsville, he was the son of the late George and Lena (Deisher) Peters. For 43 years, he, along with his wife and sons, owned and operated Peters Bros. Meat Market, a family business started by his father and uncle in 1940. Donald found the most joy, though, when he was free on the open road behind the wheel of a Peterbilt. Looking toward the horizon ahead always gave him the greatest peace.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Tim (Lois) Peters and Rex (Lisa) Peters, both of Lenhartsville, daughter Jennifer (Karl) Liedtka of Cleona, siblings Gerald (Nancy) Peters and Patricia (Kerry) Fink, both of Lenhartsville, grandchildren Katrina, Ashley, Emily, Joshua, Kiona, Cierra, Jack and Max, and eight great-grandchildren.

Friedens Church of Lenhartsville was Donald's church home for his entire life. Friends and family are invited to gather there for a viewing on Monday, September 16 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, followed by a service celebrating his life at noon. Interment on the church cemetery will follow immediately after.
