Donald L. Hartman, 69, of Centre Twp., died Friday January 24, 2014 in his residence. He was the husband of Janice A. (Wagner) Hartman. They were married June 13, 1944 and celebrated 49 years of marriage. Born in West Reading he was the son of the late John L. and Ellen M. (Burkey) Hartman. He was a 1962 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. Donald worked as a welder at Dana Corporation for 30 years. Donald was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his granddaughters. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, watching the weather channel, wrestling, and football. Surviving in addition to his wife is a daugther: Karla A. (Hartman) wife of Paul Painter, Parker, Colorado; two granddaughters: Kirsten, and Brooke; a brother: W. John Hartman husband of Peg Hartman, Upper Bern Twp.; four sisters: Gladys Swope, Rehrersburg, Norma Norton, Centre Twp., Helen Loeb, Hamburg, and Sarah Kline wife of Lee Kline, Virginville. Donald is also survived by his father-in-law: M. Homer Wagner, Muhlenberg Twp. Donald was predeceased by two sisters: Esther Krill, and Mildred Krill. Services will be held Thursday January 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc. 223 Peach Street Leesport. Burial will follow in St. John's (Gernant's) Cemetery, Ontelaunee Twp.
