Diane Thurkow, 50, of Shartlesville, died Sunday morning, May 15, 2011 in St. Joseph Medical Center where she was a patient since Saturday. She was the wife of Paul E. Thurkow. Born in Hatboro, she was the daughter of Irene (Whery) Richardson, Green Lane, PA; and the late Robert Richardson. She was a 1978 graduate of Huntingdon High School. Diane attended Frieden's Church, Shartlesville. She was a member of Strausstown Rod and Gun Club. She enjoyed cooking and camping. Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are three daughters: Kristen I. (Richardson), wife of Derek C. Bender, Tremont; Courtney N. (Richardson), wife of Adam M. Oaks, Bethel; and Jessica L. Thurkow, Shartlesville. She was predeceased by a daughter: Elizabeth L. Thompson, who died in1986. Diane is also survived by one brother: Robert Richardson, Perkasie; two sisters: Deborah (Richardson) Baker, Green Lane; and Karen (Richardson) Jimmie, Reedsville, West Virginia; and five grandchildren: Justus Gilroy, Amara Bender, Korbyn Kayes, Konner Oaks, and Dakota Bender. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 pm from Frieden's Church, 28 Wolf Creek Road, Shartlesville. A visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
