Dennis R. Sonday, 73, of Tilden Twp., died Friday, May 15, 2026 in St. Luke's Bethlehem. He was the husband of Debra J. (Hartman) Sonday. They were married August 27, 1977 and celebrated 48 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Lester C., and Ruth M. (Leinbach) Sonday. He graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1973. Dennis was a member of Salem Berne United Methodist Church, Tilden Twp. He worked as a truck driver for F.M. Browns, until he retired. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and gardening, and also loved flowers. He always enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren. Dennis volunteered at church operating the sound system.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Jennifer L. (Sonday) Mengel, wife of Kerry J., Hamburg, and Bridgette L. (Sonday) Hill, wife of Joel, Douglassville; his grandchildren: Nicole L. Sonday, Kalynna H. Steely, Connor Skiles, Talia Hill, and Taven Hill; and his great-grandchild: Lainey J. Wolfe. He is also survived by two brothers: Donald Sonday, husband of Chatchakorn, South Carolina, and Larry Sonday, husband of Pam, Pine Grove; and his sister: Sharon (Sonday) Altland, wife of Matthew, Shoemakersville. He was predeceased by a brother: Robert Sonday, husband of Emily Sonday, Bernville.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11:00 am from Salem Berne United Methodist Church, 292 Salem Church Road, Hamburg, PA 19526, Burial will follow in Salem United Methodist Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the church. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg is in charge or arrangements.
