Dennis R. Mays, 69, formerly of Leesport, died Friday, January 6, 2012 in the Lebanon VA Medical Center, where he was a patient for one week.
Born in Bern Twp., he was the son of the late Lloyd and Florence (Edwards) Mays. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Dennis worked for Glen-Gery Brick Corporation and Berks Building Block. He also worked for ten years as a truck driver for Golf View, Maidencreek, until his retirement. Dennis also boarded horses and operated a crop farm in Bern Township. He was a member of the Leesport Fire Company.
Dennis is survived by one brother: Leland Mays, Walnuttown; one sister: Joyce (Mays) Wieding, Canyon Lake, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother: Larry Mays; and one sister: Patricia (Mays) Hafer.
A Celebration of Dennis's Life and visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 from 9:30 to 11:00 am in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Centerport.
