Dennis R. Humbert, 81, of Exeter Twp., passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Raymond H. and Emma N. (Schaeffer) Humbert. He was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church, Exeter. He graduated from Mt. Penn High School in 1959, and later attended Penn State. He was a US Army Veteran. Dennis worked on the long lines at AT&T for 30 years until retirement in 1990. He later worked at French Creek State Park for 10 years in the maintenance department. He enjoyed hiking and was a member of the Berks County Hiking Club, and enjoyed old movies, especially ones with John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart.

He is survived by a son: Dana R. Humbert, Exeter; a daughter: Erica B. (Humbert) Sweigert, wife of Dave, Exeter; two grandchildren: Kayden Humbert and Allie Sweigert; and a brother: Keith A. Humbert, husband of Donna, Mt. Penn. He was predeceased by his wife: Jane W. (Gundrum) Humbert, passed away June 17, 2022.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 10:00 am from Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 am in the church. Inurnment will be held Wednesday, at Forest Hills Memorial Park, at 2:00 pm.
