Dawson N. Mohl, 24, of Bern Twp., passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
Born in Reading, he was the son of Ronald A. Mohl and Priscilla M. Conrad-Mohl. He graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School in 2018; and attended 1 year at Shippensburg University. Dawson worked as an apprentice II on his way to becoming a journeyman at UGI, Frackville, for the past 2 years. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 160, Leesport, and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout; He had attended Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Leesport. He was a member of Reading Liederkranz, volunteering for ground maintenance; Perry Twp Game Associates; and Deer Lake Fire Company. He served as the secretary of UFCW Local 570C. Dawson was a member of the Schuylkill Valley Swim team in high school competing on the county, district, and state championship teams; and was a member of Shippensburg Swim team during his time there. He was a true "Renaissance man," an adventurer and explorer, enjoying reading, listening to stories of history, camping, hiking, kayaking, fishing and hunting. He was quick-witted; always ready with a joke or rib on his good friends and coworkers. While working for UGI he would occasionally explore the coal mine shafts underneath Pottsville. He will always be remembered as a humble, compassionate, loyal, and gentle soul. To his parents, Dawson will always be their "little man with a BIG Heart."
Surviving in addition to his parents is his paternal grandmother: Theresa A. (Whelan) Mohl, widow of Arnold R. Mohl, Dillsburg; maternal grandparents: Carol A. (Ebling), and Ronald Burns, New Castle; Aunt Debra and Uncle Fred Parlee, West Nantmeal, and Great Aunt: Marlene Schlimme, widow of Henry, West Nantmeal, Aunt Kimberly (Mohl) and Guy Cerro, St. Pete, Florida; Aunt Karen (Mohl) and Rodney Nesmith, Mechanisburg, PA; Uncle Scott Conrad and wife Jodi, Pittsburgh, PA. He is also survived by his cousins: Matthew H. Nesmith, Jessica L. (Hollinger) Ebersole, and Robert S. Hollinger; and his extended "Newfy," Canadian family.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 promptly at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport. Burial will follow in Zion's Red Church Cemetery, Orwigsburg. Viewings will be held Friday, December 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm; and Saturday, from 8:30 to 10:30 am in the funeral home.
