David B. Shefter, Sr., 62, of Windsor Twp., passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026 in St. Luke's Geisinger Hospital, Orwigsburg. He was the husband of Kim M. (LeMay) Shefter. They were married April 16, 1988 and celebrated almost 38 years of marriage.
Born in Willingboro, NJ, he was the son of the late Lee S. and Ada I. (Singer) Shefter. He graduated from Mt. Penn High School in 1982; and later received a Bachelor's Degree from Penn State University in Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management. David worked as a school Administrator- Director of Food Services at Schuylkill Valley School District for 3 years; and currently at Hamburg Area School District for the past 30 years. He and his wife were entrepreneurs; they owned and operated various businesses over the years. First, they owned Pony Express Pizza in St. Lawrence and West Lawn from 1988-1993, Penn Werner Hotel, in Wernersville from 2005-2021, KDS Catering for the past 35 years, and most recently opening The Wherehouse of Hamburg in 2023 until present. David was a fan of Penn State Football and enjoyed tailgating at Penn State, he enjoyed poker, and loved his ice cream. David had a tremendous amount of pride in running his businesses. Overseeing his business operations with his family took up a lot of his time, which he enjoyed and never grew tired of doing. His lifelong dream was to own his own wedding venue which he accomplished a few years ago.
