David J. Hoffman, 72, of South Heidelberg Twp., passed away unexpectedly in his residence on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. He was the husband of Sandra L. (Bender) Hoffman. They were married on June 9, 1973 and celebrated fifty years of marriage.

Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Roy and Mary (Huette) Hoffman. David was a 1972 graduate of Exeter High School, where he played football and baseball. He worked for Carpenter; and was a courier for Quest Diagnostics. He was a member of Kenhorst Fire Company. David enjoyed football and baseball and was a fan of the Eagles and Phillies. He coached for Little League and Legion teams; and enjoyed playing softball.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Matthew D. Hoffman, companion of Nicole Meyers, Lower Heidelberg Twp.; and Andrew D. Hoffman, South Heidelberg Twp.; his mother-in-law: Barbara Bender; one brother: Ray Hoffman, husband of Bertha, Fleetwood; and two sisters: Shirley Fritz, widow of Edwin, Shillington; and Delores DeLong, widow of Leroy, Boyertown. David was predeceased by his daugther-in-law: Kristen M. Hoffman; and three brothers: Carl, Richard and William Hoffman.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692 or Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Leesport is in charge of arrangements.
