David G. Hersh, 70, formerly of Macungie, a resident at Laureldale Nursing and Rehab passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 in Laureldale Nursing and Rehab.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of Bernice A. (Reichard) Shoemaker, Topton, and the late Gene Hersh. He attended Emmaus High School. David worked for Schwartz Landscaping, Emmaus for approximately 20 years, he later worked at Lutheran Home at Topton in the food service department, before retiring. He always enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and softball. David loved to spend time with his family.

He is survived by two daughters: Amiee M. Hersh, Pottsville, and Karla S. Hersh, Blandon; three grandchildren: Dylan Zimmerman, Bethany Bender, and Lucas Bender; and a sister: Donna (Hersh) Wharton, Birdsboro.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 10:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 am in the funeral home.
