Obituary

Daniel J. Fetherolf, Sr., 83, of Perry Twp., died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 10:30 am in the Lutheran Home at Topton where he was since April 22, 2011. His wife, Mary Ellen (Heckman) Fetherolf, to whom he was married for 58 years, died on October 19, 2006.

Born on June 15, 1927 in Albany Twp., he was the son of the late William D. and Esther K. (Kistler) Fetherolf. He was a 1945 graduate of South Whitehall High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Daniel worked for Schlenker Motors, Hamburg, for 46 years, first as parts manager and then as a salesman, retiring in June 1995. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. Daniel was a member of Vaux Masonic Lodge #406 F. & A.M., Hamburg.

Daniel is survived by three sons: Daniel J., Jr., husband of Dorian L. (Derr) Fetherolf, Wyomissing; Donald A., husband of Carrol A. (Brown) Fetherolf, Tilden Twp.; and Darrell J. Fetherolf, Zanesville, Ohio; and one daughter: Donna M. (Fetherolf), wife of William C. Kunkel, Kempton. There are 10 grandchildren: Daniel J., III; Jenna; Bradley; Brandon; Brandy; Dawn; Danny; Casey; David and Deidre; 10 great-grandchildren: Madisyn; Griffin; Emersyn; Ellee; Braden; Bryce; Alaina; Cody; Sydney and Emily; and one step-great-granddaughter: Madison. Other survivors include two sisters: Pauline E. (Fetherolf), widow of Miles Henninger, Kempton; and Anna M. (Fetherolf), wife of Earl Kerschner, Ironton, Lehigh Co. Daniel was predeceased by a son: Darren J. Fetherolf; and two brothers: Forrest and Charles Fetherolf.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear) with Rev. Fred A. Diehl officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. A visitation with the family will be held Tuesday 9:30 to 11:00 am with Vaux Lodge services at 10:45 am.
