Dale G. Gassert, 61, of Windsor Twp., passed away Friday, May 8, 2026 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the husband of Betsy A. MacBride. They were married on September 29, 2023, after being together since April 2000.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Guy C. and Alice M. (Bower) Gassert. He graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1982. Dale was known for his entrepreneurial skills, confidence, and strong work ethic, building his company from the ground up. In 1992, he bought his first mowing equipment, and with one man's passion, Hilltop Services was born and grew into the successful company it is today. However, the greatest accomplishment of his career was creating something meaningful to pass along to his son, Jonathan.
Dale worked hard so he could enjoy his free time sharing his homes with friends and family. He found happiness on his pontoon boat, music blaring, a drink in hand, surrounded by the people he loved most. Dale especially loved children and took immense joy in teaching them to drive his boat and golf cart at an early age. Throughout years of health difficulties, Dale was a fighter. He will be remembered for his will to live and his resilient spirit.
These moments reflect the kind of person he was, generous, selfless, and full of life.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son: Jonathan A. Gassert, Windsor Twp.; a brother: David L. Gassert, husband of Amy L. (Kametz) Shoemakersville; and a sister: Diane A. (Gassert) Hoover, wife of Roger, Fleetwood.
