Cynthia L. Kershner, 67, of Maidencreek Twp., passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025 in her residence. She was the wife of the late Scott J. Kershner, died November 30, 2021.
Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Lee E. and Pauline A. (Stern) Kunkel. She was a member of The Bridge Church, Hamburg. She graduated from Kutztown High School in 1975 and later received an associates degree from Allentown Business School. Cyndi worked as the secretary to the Dean of the Art Department; and later the secretary to the Chief of Police in Public Safety at Kutztown University for over 20 years. She and her husband also owned and operated Kershner Trucking, Krumsville for many years. She enjoyed crafting, stained glass, and crocheting. She also loved her rescue dogs.
She is survived by a daughter: Sarah C. (Kershner) Heiter, wife of Lucas M., Kempton; and five grandchildren: Jonah L., Hannah P., Jebediah S., Hazel A., and Helen I. Hieter, all of Kempton. She is also survived by a sister: Sandra A. (Kunkel) Madeira, wife of Gene, Kutztown. She was predeceased by a brother: Larry Kunkel, and a sister: Patricia (Kunkel) Hummel.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 7:30 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (off street parking in rear). A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the funeral home.
