IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cornelius P. "Pete"
Kennedy
November 23, 1943 – November 2, 2023
C. Pete Kennedy, 79, of Shoemakersville, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Twp. He was the husband of Julie A. (Duhigg) Kennedy. They were married May 23, 1969 and celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Cornelius J., and Theresa (Coade) Kennedy. He graduated from Reading Catholic High School in 1962. Pete was a faithful member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Tilden Twp. He served in the United States Army. Pete worked as a credit manager at Fromm Electric, Reading, for 30 years before retiring. Pete loved to be around family and friends and have a good time; he could often be found playing horseshoes, cornhole, darts, golf, and bowling. He loved watching all sports, and was an avid Dodger fan. Pete was a fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers growing up; and inevitably became a Los Angeles Dodgers fan after the team moved to LA. One thing Pete loved more than anything was his grandchildren. He supported them in all of their activities, and never missed one of their sporting events.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Stephen R. Kennedy, Wayne County; Julie M. Kennedy-Hoy, wife of Kevin L. Hoy, Tilden Twp; and Todd J. Kennedy, husband of Della M. (Leibensperger) Kennedy, Hamburg; three grandchildren: Ethan T. Kennedy, Justin B. Hoy, and Anabel M. Kennedy. He is also survived by a brother: Robert M. Kennedy, husband of Cindy D. (Stepp), Indio, CA; a sister: Theresa M. (Kennedy) Hockenbrough, Sunbury; nieces and nephew: Kimberly, Kara, Troy, and Jillian and their families: Kasey, Korbin, Brooke, Jameson, and Brodi.
