Clark L. Seigfried, 91, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 2:30 am in the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. He was the husband of Myrl M. (Stoudt) Seigfried. They were married on January 25, 1944 and celebrated 67 years of marriage.
Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Earl B. and Mabel C. (Hummel) Seigfried. Clark was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in India. He was the owner and operator of Seigfried Seafood, Hamburg, from 1946-1976. He then worked as a bus driver for Bieber Tourways for fifteen years, retiring in 1995. Clark was a member and former church councilman of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hamburg. He was a member of C.B.I. (China-Burma-India veterans); and a life-member of Wagner-Good Post #216. V.F.W., Hamburg. Clark enjoyed swimming at the Hamburg Swimming Pool.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one daughter: Ruth A. (Seigfried), wife of Bernard L. Himmelberger, Penn Twp.; two grandchildren: Brent and Amy Himmelberger; and two great-grandsons. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Clark was predeceased by a brother: Jay E. Seigfried.
Services will be on Monday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
