Clarence E. Levan, 79, of Windsor Twp., died Friday, January 24, 2014 in St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Ida M. (Nagle) Levan, who died December 24, 1998.
Born in Virginville, he was the son of the late George B. and Elda M. (Heinly) Levan. He worked as a truck driver for Lentz Milling. Clarence was a member of St. Paul's (Smoke) Lutheran Church, Windsor Twp. He was also a member of the Teamsters; Virginville, Port Clinton, Kempton, Shoemakersville, and Hamburg Fire Companies; Hamburg Game Association; and Behler-Hein Post #637 American Legion, Hamburg. Clarence enjoyed gardening, wood working, making bird house, and tractors.
Clarence is survived by one son: Clarence E. "C.J." Levan, Jr., and his wife Nadia, Fleetwood; four daughters: Lori A., wife of Keith Miller, Bernville; Kim M., wife of William O'Donnell, Bethel; Gail L., wife of Thomas Canace, Jr., Winston-Salem, NC; and Judy L., wife of Dennis Heydt, Jr., Bernville; and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers: Frederick Levan, in Florida; and Paul Levan, Hamburg; and one sister: Ruth Ulrich, Robesonia. Clarence was predeceased by four brothers: Samuel, Arthur, George and Russell Levan.
Services will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. Paul's (Smoke) Cemetery, Windsor Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Friday 12:30 to 2:00 pm.
