Clarence J. Heck, 88, of Centre Twp., passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 in the Berks Heim.

Born in Hamburg, he was the son of the late Clarence J. Heck and Dorothy (Yoder) Heck Long. Clarence was a 1954 graduate of Hamburg High School. He played basketball in high school and had a real love for the game. Clarence worked as a milkman for thirty years for St. Lawrence Dairy, then Clover Farms Dairy until his retirement. He then worked part-time for the Berks County Intermediate Unit as a delivery driver. Clarence enjoyed hunting (shooting an 8-pt. deer), golfing, and bowling; and loved dogs.

Clarence is survived by his children: Rose (Heck), wife of Jeff Beissel, Wyomissing; Gary Heck, husband of Diane, Muhlenberg Twp.; and Glen Heck, husband of Mary, Centre Twp.; five grandchildren: Kelsey Heck, Angela Galczynski, wife of Marc, Alexander Beissel, Austin Beissel, and Glen Heck, II; two step-grandchildren: Benjamin Guntz, husband of Nikki, and Jessica Melhorn, wife of Allory; two great-grandchildren: Anthony Pasquale and Tristan Galczynski; and four step-great-grandchildren: Samuel and James Guntz, and Miles and Shelby Melhorn. He is also survived by his step-sisters: Sandy Schaeffer, Fay Yohn, Kay Greth and Joy Greth; and his former wife: Marie (Pupo) Kirkpatrick. Clarence was predeceased by a brother: Charles Heck.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial will be private in Viewpoint Cemetery, Centre Twp.
