Clair R. Leibensperger, 91, formerly of Leesport, died Friday, June 28, 2013 in Kutztown Manor surrounded by his three loving daughters and son-in-law Jimmy. He was the husband of Grace E. (Snyder) Leibensperger, died December 27, 2012. Born in Leesport, he was the son of the late George and Ruth (Miller) Leibensperger. Clair was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient. He worked as a paint and body man for Standard Auto Body, Reading, until his retirement. Clair was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Leesport. He was a member of the Leesport Senior Citizens and the American Legion Post 732, Bernville. Clair was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed horse racing and stock car racing; and was a pit crew member of Car 57. Clair is survived by three daughters: Diane J. (Leibensperger), wife of John I.D. Wolfe, Perry Twp.; Donna L. (Leibensperger), wife of James M. Shuman, Leesport; and Denise C. (Leibensperger) DeRenzo, companion of Robert W. Holmes, Muhlenberg Twp.; one son: Larry R. Snyder, husband of Barbara (King) Snyder, Lehigh Acres, Florida; five grandchildren; and his great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister: Betty (Leibensperger) Crow, Leesport. Clair was predeceased by three brothers: his twin, Stewart; Russell; and Lynn Leibensperger; and sister: Hazel (Leibensperger) Nye. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Leesport Cemetery.
